A Jamaica of the Mind is an ongoing four-year practice-based research using photography and cyanotype to re-examine Anna Atkins's nineteenth-century Jamaican botanical photograms and the colonial histories they carry. This summer I am undertaking research in Halstead, Kent — the village where Anna Atkins lived and made her cyanotypes at Halstead Place. As part of this fieldwork, I am running a participatory cyanotype workshop and am currently looking for people to take part. See the flyer below for more information on how to get involved.
